Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan—a land of mosaics, minarets, and mesmerising history. Tucked deep in Central Asia, Uzbekistan is one of the Silk Road’s most compelling stops, where ancient cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva glow with turquoise domes and gold calligraphy. It’s a place where hospitality is sacred, and strangers will invite you in for plov and green tea without hesitation. Walking through its old towns feels like time travel—caravanserais still stand, and the air carries the scent of spices, fresh bread, and desert heat.
You’ll feel the texture of handwoven silks, taste pomegranates still warm from the sun, and hear the melodic call to prayer echo across sunbaked courtyards. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, you’ll descend into one of Tashkent’s ornate Soviet-era metro stations, or sip tea in a 15th-century madrasa courtyard. Uzbekistan doesn’t just tell a story—it immerses you in it. Curious? See our sample itinerary below, or let us craft a journey that brings this extraordinary country to life.
